From Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner Glen Mulready:
“I am very pleased to hear the announcement by President Trump’s administration that our major health insurers have agreed that coronavirus tests would be covered at no cost to patients, and to cover telemedicine related to the outbreak. These insurers also pledged no surprise billing in connection with coronavirus.”

“Last week, the Oklahoma Insurance Department requested information from Oklahoma insurance carriers about their plans and procedures, including telemedicine capabilities, for responding to COVID-19. This information is due later this week and during this request for company data, the agency will continue focusing on precautionary steps to educate consumers as we closely monitor the effect this public health event has on Oklahoma.”

“In addition, businesses and individuals should read and understand how their existing insurance coverages may respond to a pandemic including; health insurance, worker’s compensation, business interruption, general liability, directors and officers, event cancellation and travel insurance.”
